Welcome to our website! We are the Walker family, also known as, the Modern Nomads. We are so glad you dropped by for a visit. This site will be unlike any blog you visit, and that’s how we like it. It consists partly of funny stories about our crazy family adventures (at home and abroad) and partly of random musings (mostly by Amanda). Our family lives between two dichotomies: the exciting lure of adventure coupled with the familiarity of knowing our neighbors. We are a family that loves to explore new places and be at home in our community. We enjoy introducing our children to exotic food, as well as, sitting down to a good southern home-cooked meal. We long for life on the road while seeking to ground our children in deep relationships that will last a lifetime. It is often difficult to find the balance between these opposing realities, but we seek to do our best to live each one to the fullest. We realize that we have been given only a few short years on this earth, and our prayer is that we will live them well.
